In recent years, Mayo Construction has completed a number of jobs for McLean County, including microsurfacing County Road 33 from Butte to Mercer, which required more than 120,000 gallons of asphalt emulsion oil. As opposed to the traditional chip seal method, mircosurfacing utilizes a mix of dry powder cement, water, oil-based emulsion and aggregate. Once applied, it dries in two minutes resulting in a harder, skid-resistant finish that lasts longer and doesn’t leave loose aggregate. We’re proud to say Mayo Construction is the only North Dakota contractor to offer microsurfacing services.
